Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has unveiled Reliance Intelligence, a wholly owned subsidiary dedicated to driving artificial intelligence adoption across India. Announcing the launch, Chairman Mukesh Ambani called it a pivotal step in transforming Reliance into a “deep-tech enterprise,” complementing its strength in telecom, retail, and energy. The company’s vision is to make AI as accessible as Jio made the internet, with the mission to “take AI everywhere, for every Indian.”
Reliance Intelligence is anchored by four ambitious missions:
Building gigawatt-scale AI-ready data centers in Jamnagar to power India’s AI infrastructure.
Forging alliances with global tech leaders and open-source communities to accelerate innovation.
Rolling out AI-powered solutions for education, healthcare, agriculture, and small businesses.
Attracting world-class AI talent to India, creating a hub for global AI research and development.
To bring this vision to life, Reliance is partnering with some of the biggest names in Silicon Valley. Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, praised the initiative, saying, “The AI opportunity in India is extraordinary. It will transform every industry and organisation – from the largest enterprises to the smallest kirana store.” As part of this collaboration, Google and Reliance will establish a dedicated Jamnagar Cloud region to accelerate AI adoption across Reliance’s ecosystem.
In another significant move, Reliance has teamed up with Meta to build sovereign, enterprise-grade AI platforms tailored for Indian businesses and government agencies. Mark Zuckerberg underscored the global significance of the partnership, stating: “Together we want to ensure that everyone in India has access to AI — and eventually superintelligence.”
With Reliance Intelligence, Mukesh Ambani is positioning RIL at the forefront of India’s AI revolution — not just to transform the company’s own operations, but to redefine the nation’s technological future and help India emerge as a global AI powerhouse.
