SAM Gnanasambandam Kumaralingam has been promoted to Senior Director at HCLTech, marking an important advancement in his career within the technology and application services landscape. In his expanded role, he is set to draw upon his deep expertise in solution architecture, transition leadership, and digital transformation to further enhance the company’s service portfolio and lead high-impact strategic initiatives.
Sam officially assumed the Senior Director position in January 2026, following more than five years of progressive leadership within HCLTech. His elevation reflects both his sustained contribution to the organisation and his strong track record in delivering complex, enterprise-scale digital programmes.
Immediately prior to this promotion, Sam served as Director, Product Management, AMS Offerings and Propositions from January 2025 to February 2026. In that role, he was responsible for driving the end-to-end product strategy for Global Application Management Services. His mandate included defining the vision and roadmap, shaping commercial models, designing packaging strategies, building demonstrations, and ensuring launch readiness. His work positioned AMS offerings to remain competitive and aligned with evolving client demands.
From January 2022 to January 2025, he held the role of Director, Principal Architect – Scaled Digital Solutions. As Lead Solution Architect for HCLTech’s Digital Business, he focused on large and complex deals exceeding 100 million USD in total contract value. These engagements sat at the intersection of digital acceleration, AI and intelligent automation, and operations transformation, requiring both technical depth and strategic alignment with client objectives.
Before joining HCLTech, Sam spent over four years at Mindtree in Bengaluru. From July 2018 to December 2020, he served as Senior Solution Architect – Application Services, where he led and designed differentiated AMS solutions for large and mid-sized IT outsourcing deals across strategic industry groups. His role involved crafting competitive value propositions and owning end-to-end AMS solution strategy.
Earlier in his career, he gained extensive transition and consulting experience at IGATE, holding roles including Lead Transition Manager, Transition Solutions Manager, and Associate Consultant. These positions strengthened his expertise in managing complex service transitions, operational stabilisation, and solution consulting. He began his professional journey as a Management Trainee at Pricol Limited, laying the groundwork for his future leadership in technology-driven transformation.
Across his career, Sam has consistently operated at the convergence of enterprise solutions, consulting, and digital innovation. His progression through architect, product, and director-level roles reflects a blend of technical depth and strategic foresight. As Senior Director at HCLTech, he now takes on broader leadership responsibilities, reinforcing the company’s capabilities in digital solutions, intelligent automation, and application management services in an increasingly competitive global market.
