
Samsung Electronics has announced a major leadership reorganization aimed at strengthening its semiconductor operations and positioning the company for its next phase of growth. The restructuring underscores Samsung’s commitment to reinforcing its technological leadership and long-term competitiveness in the global semiconductor industry.
As part of the changes, Young Hyun Jun, Vice Chairman and Head of the Device Solutions (DS) Division, has been appointed CEO and will also assume responsibilities as the Head of Memory Business and Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology. The company said the move is intended to bring unified leadership and strategic alignment to its core semiconductor businesses.
In addition, Jinman Han has been promoted to President and named Head of Foundry Business, while Seok Woo Nam will take on the newly established role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Foundry Business. The creation of the CTO position reflects Samsung’s focus on accelerating innovation and advancing its foundry technology capabilities amid increasing global competition.
Meanwhile, JH Han, Vice Chairman, CEO, and Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division, will lead a newly formed committee dedicated to enhancing product quality across all business units, ensuring that Samsung continues to deliver excellence in every product category.
Jinman Han previously served as Executive Vice President and President of Device Solutions America, where he led Samsung’s semiconductor operations in the U.S. His extensive background spans DRAM and Flash memory design, SSD development, and strategic marketing, equipping him to guide the foundry business through its next phase of innovation and growth.
Seok Woo Nam, formerly President and Head of FAB Engineering & Operations, brings deep expertise in semiconductor process development and manufacturing technologies, particularly in memory process and foundry manufacturing. His appointment as CTO highlights Samsung’s intent to strengthen its technological leadership and operational excellence.
In parallel, Hansung Ko, CEO of Samsung Bioepis, will focus on exploring new business areas, including biotechnology, to identify and develop future growth opportunities for the company.
Samsung’s leadership reshuffle signals a strategic emphasis on innovation, quality, and diversification, positioning the company to maintain its global edge in semiconductors while pursuing emerging opportunities in next-generation technologies.
