Bengaluru-based startup Sarvam has launched its Samvaad AI agents on WhatsApp, enabling businesses to engage with customers seamlessly through a single thread. The platform introduces voice and chat AI agents powered by Meta’s new Business Calling API, allowing users to switch effortlessly between voice calls and text messages. The agents support 11 Indian languages across voice, text, and interactive widgets, providing personalized, context-aware interactions that enhance customer experience.
“With Samvaad AI agents on WhatsApp, businesses can now communicate more naturally with their customers, combining chat and voice within a single thread while offering multilingual support,” said Kartik K., who leads conversational AI on WhatsApp at Sarvam.
The platform leverages Sarvam’s no-code design environment, enabling businesses to deploy AI agents quickly with pre-built templates for sales, support, and operations. This approach reduces deployment timelines from months to days. Early use cases demonstrated include lead qualification agents, KYC assistants, order capture systems with integrated voice purchasing, customer support bots, and appointment management tools, helping enterprises streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
In a live demonstration, Kartik K. and Tushar Goswamy, head of Edge AI & GTM Leadership at Sarvam, showcased the platform by ordering a desk while interacting with the agent in Hindi. The demo highlighted the system’s multilingual capabilities and intuitive interaction design, underscoring its potential to transform customer engagement in diverse markets.
Sarvam, the first startup selected by IndiaAI Mission to build India’s foundational AI model, continues to innovate with Samvaad and its 24-billion parameter Sarvam-M language model. The startup is poised to release the country’s first foundational AI model by early next year, as confirmed by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
By combining cutting-edge AI, multilingual support, and seamless voice-text integration, Sarvam’s Samvaad platform positions itself as a game-changer in enterprise communication. Businesses leveraging these capabilities can accelerate operations, reduce friction in customer interactions, and deploy scalable AI solutions across sales, support, and operational workflows, marking a significant milestone in India’s AI-driven digital transformation.
