SBM Bank India has added seasoned cybersecurity expertise to its leadership team with the appointment of Anshuman Pund, a professional with extensive experience spanning information security governance, cyber risk management, and regulatory compliance across banking and technology ecosystems.
In his new role, Pund will be responsible for shaping the bank’s information security strategy and further strengthening its cyber resilience framework. Prior to joining SBM Bank India, he served as Chief Information Security Officer at Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd., where he led enterprise-wide information security initiatives, cyber risk management programmes, CSOC operations, and regulatory compliance efforts within the financial services sector.
Before that, Pund held senior leadership and consulting roles at Tech Mahindra, National Payments Corporation of India, and IDBI Intech Ltd. His work across these organizations focused on cybersecurity architecture, information security governance, risk management, and large-scale security operations.
He has also built a broad professional foundation through roles at Essar Group AEGIS Ltd., National Institute for Smart Government (Government of Maharashtra), Reliance Tech Services (Reliance Industries Limited), and Barco, gaining cross-sector exposure across banking, payments, telecom, government, and enterprise technology environments.
With this appointment, SBM Bank India seeks to further enhance its information security posture and ensure closer alignment of its cybersecurity practices with evolving regulatory expectations and operational demands.
