
Serena Menon has been appointed as APAC Communications Head at Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios, marking a strategic leadership move in the highly competitive streaming landscape.
She joins from Netflix India, where she served as Director, Public Relations, India, and earlier led the Photo & AV Studio across the Asia-Pacific region. During her more than seven-year tenure at Netflix, Menon built and scaled regional communications and creative teams, delivering high-impact campaigns that strengthened brand positioning and deepened audience engagement across India, Japan, Korea, Australia-New Zealand, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.
In her new role, she will steer communications strategy and regional reputation management for Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios across APAC. Her appointment comes at a time of intensifying competition among global and regional streaming platforms, with a strong emphasis on localized storytelling and brand differentiation.
Prior to her corporate leadership journey, Menon established a distinguished career in journalism. She held senior editorial positions at ELLE Magazine, serving as Managing Editor and Associate Editor. She also worked at Hindustan Times in multiple roles, including Principal Correspondent, Assistant Editor, Senior Staff Writer, and Staff Writer.
Her cross-industry experience spanning journalism, brand storytelling, and strategic communications equips her to shape narrative strategy and enhance stakeholder engagement across diverse markets in the Asia-Pacific region, reinforcing Amazon’s competitive stance in the evolving streaming ecosystem.
