Tata Motors has announced the appointment of Shailesh Chandra as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2025. Chandra has held multiple senior positions within Tata Motors, including Managing Director at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited. He previously served as President of the Passenger Vehicles Business Unit and President of Electric Mobility Business & Corporate Strategy, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s electric mobility roadmap and steering strategic initiatives that underpin sustainable growth.
Earlier in his career, Chandra contributed significantly at TATA SONS LIMITED in Group Strategy and the Chairman’s Office, gaining exposure to corporate governance, strategic decision-making, and portfolio management. Within Tata Motors, he has also led key functions including corporate strategy, defense vehicle marketing, vendor development, and production management, giving him comprehensive insights across the company’s operations.
