
Shalaka Verma has been appointed as Partner and Executive Director, Data and AI Sales at IBM, marking an important new phase in her journey within enterprise technology and digital transformation.
Sharing the news, she said, “I will be starting a new exciting chapter of my career as Partner and Executive Director , Data and AI Sales as IBM.” She highlighted how rapidly evolving AI innovation is reshaping the business landscape, adding, “Rapid Innovation in AI has opened up huge number of possibilities for reimagining and transforming business models. In AI, technology capability at this point remains miles ahead of enterprise deployment, and there is a real opportunity for making significant progress with tech leverage.”
She also pointed to the responsibility that comes with scaling AI adoption. “This also opens up new threat landscape and new considerations on how we deploy and run mission critical workloads securely and compliantly that empower and touch so many lives.” Expressing enthusiasm for collaboration, she added, “Looking forward to be part of this exciting journey and would love to talk to you on what are you doing, and how we can partner.”
In her new role, Shalaka will lead data and AI-driven sales initiatives, working to accelerate enterprise adoption of next-generation technologies. She has built a strong track record at IBM, consistently surpassing technology sales targets and delivering a high win rate. Her work has involved architecting and implementing large-scale solutions spanning AI infrastructure, advanced data architectures, and open hybrid multi-cloud environments across industries such as banking, telecommunications, and media.
Before joining IBM, she served as Head of Customer Engineering at Google and as Senior Director, Cloud Solution Architecture (Azure) at Microsoft. With leadership experience across some of the world’s most influential technology companies, she brings deep expertise in cloud ecosystems, enterprise architecture, and AI-powered transformation—further reinforcing IBM’s strategic focus on data, AI, and enterprise growth.
