Backbase has announced the appointment of Surabhi Sharma as Senior Director and Site Leader for its Hyderabad Development Center. In this strategic leadership role, Surabhi will be tasked with scaling the company’s India Global Capability Center (GCC), driving AI-powered innovation, and enhancing operational excellence to align with Backbase’s global objectives.

With a professional career spanning over 18 years, Surabhi brings rich cross-industry experience, having held key leadership roles at Google, Deloitte, Ericsson, BMW Group, and Tata Motors. At Google, she played a significant role in site strategy and people programs across India, with a focus on culture building, leadership development, and talent growth. Her career has consistently centered on improving communications, driving productivity, and fostering talent across diverse business functions.
Surabhi is an alumna of the Xavier Institute of Communications and Patna Women’s College and is widely recognised for her people-centric leadership style, passion for innovation, and expertise in high-impact communication. Her extensive experience in navigating complex organisational dynamics and delivering scalable growth is expected to be instrumental in shaping the future of Backbase’s Indian operations.
