
Surendran Balachandran has been elevated to Vice President of AI-Led Growth at Atlan, marking a significant milestone in his more than eight-year journey with the organization. In this role, he will lead Atlan’s AI-driven growth strategy, building on his recent work to help transform the company into an AI-native enterprise while expanding its global presence across data and analytics ecosystems.
Most recently, Surendran served as Head of AI Taskforce, where he played a key role in advancing Atlan’s vision of becoming a deeply AI-native company. His efforts focused on embedding AI across business functions and driving innovation in how the organization leverages data and automation at scale.
Over the years, he has been instrumental in shaping Atlan’s growth trajectory. As Director of Growth and earlier as Growth Marketing Lead, he built and scaled the company’s inbound growth engine across key markets including the US, India, and Singapore. His contributions helped Atlan secure leading global clients such as General Motors, Cisco, Autodesk, Unilever, Ralph Lauren, Fox Corporation, News Corp, Nasdaq, NextGen Healthcare, and HubSpot, significantly strengthening its enterprise footprint.
Earlier in his journey, Surendran led the “Collect” business, one of the first internal tools from SocialCops to be launched as a SaaS platform. The solution enabled organizations to capture accurate field data via mobile devices, even in low-connectivity environments, reflecting his early focus on data-driven innovation and scalable product development.
Prior to Atlan, he held roles at Change.org and also co-founded Indian Youth Climate Network, demonstrating a strong commitment to building impact-driven initiatives at the intersection of technology, data, and social change.
With deep expertise in growth strategy, data ecosystems, and AI-led transformation, Surendran brings a unique blend of strategic vision and execution capability. His elevation is expected to accelerate Atlan’s journey toward becoming a global leader in AI-native data collaboration, while further scaling its impact across enterprises worldwide.
