Swiggy has appointed Amitesh Jha as the new CEO of its quick commerce division, Instamart, effective August 29. Jha, an e-commerce veteran with over 20 years of experience, joins Swiggy after a successful tenure at Flipkart, where he led major categories such as smartphones, fashion, and logistics. Sriharsha Majety, CEO of Swiggy Group, expressed excitement about Jha’s leadership, emphasizing the opportunity to redefine consumer shopping in India. Phani Kishan, the current CEO of Instamart, will transition to a broader role within Swiggy’s Central Growth unit.
Jha expressed enthusiasm about contributing to Swiggy’s transformative journey, leveraging his extensive experience in the Indian e-commerce sector. Swiggy, backed by SoftBank, is also preparing for an IPO, aiming for a valuation of nearly $15 billion, making it one of India’s largest IPOs this year.
