The company is piloting projects designed to automate workflows and provide instant insights, reshaping how SMEs interact with their financial data.
One of the key initiatives involves automating invoice exchange, where invoices received via WhatsApp or email will automatically become entries in the accounting system. This reduces manual intervention and accelerates bookkeeping processes. In addition, Tally is developing a conversational AI engine that allows users to query their business data with natural language prompts. For instance, a question like “Who were my top three customers in the last three years?” would instantly generate actionable insights, redefining SME engagement with financial information.
Looking forward, Tally is advancing toward a domain-specific accounting large language model (LLM), experimenting with AI models such as Llama, Qwen 2.5, and Gemini. “We don’t want to get stuck with one model,” Das emphasised, underscoring the company’s flexibility and commitment to precision in its AI initiatives.
Further bolstering its AI roadmap, Tally is pursuing projects like DocAI and encrypted data handling to ensure that AI-powered solutions remain secure, reliable, and easy to use for SMEs. These efforts align with the company’s long-standing SME-first philosophy, ensuring that AI adoption enhances productivity without introducing unnecessary complexity.
