VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced the appointment of Tapan Kumar Ghosh as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its India operations. “Tapan Kumar Ghosh has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of VinFast India.” His appointment comes at a pivotal time for the company, following the recent launch of its VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs in India. Ghosh will lead VinFast’s strategic growth in the region, strengthening its presence in the rapidly expanding Indian electric vehicle market.
With an illustrious career spanning more than 28 years, Ghosh brings deep expertise and proven leadership in the automotive sector. He has held senior roles at several leading automobile manufacturers, including Hyundai Motor Company India Ltd., Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (Automotive and Farm Equipment Business), Honda Cars India Ltd., and Hindustan Motors Ltd. His vast experience across these organizations equips him with a comprehensive understanding of the Indian automotive landscape, dealer networks, and customer expectations.
At Hyundai Motor India, Ghosh served as Vice President and Head of National Sales, where he managed all-India new vehicle sales, sales strategy, dealer network expansion, logistics operations, and the used car business. His professional journey also includes leadership roles with Mahindra & Mahindra, Honda Cars India, and Hindustan Motors, giving him a well-rounded perspective on the Indian automotive sector.
