Suman Guha has taken on a dual leadership role within the Tata Group, being named Vice President, Group Technology Synergy at Tata Digital and Chief Technology & Product Officer (CPTO) at Tata CLiQ Fashion. In this capacity, he will oversee technology integration across Tata Digital, Croma, and CLiQ, while directly leading the product and technology functions at Tata CLiQ. Guha will manage a team of more than 250 professionals across engineering, product management, UX, data, cloud, DevOps, and information security, strengthening the group’s consumer tech ecosystem.
With over two decades of experience spanning B2C, D2C, retail brands, marketplaces, SaaS, and DeepTech enterprises, Guha brings extensive expertise in strategy, design, data, security, and digital transformation. His appointment is expected to significantly boost Tata Group’s digital commerce and consumer technology ambitions.
Before joining Tata Digital, Guha served as CPTO at Reliance Retail, where he played a pivotal role in launching Tira and scaling the company’s fashion, sports, and lifestyle categories. His prior experience also includes leading global platform engineering at Cisco for a $6 billion portfolio and spearheading a large-scale digital transformation at Tesco, where he modernized legacy systems into SaaS-based commerce platforms.
Guha’s career spans senior leadership roles at Teradata, Red Hat, Castle Rock Research Corporation, Innozon Software Technologies, and PLC Platforms, where he contributed to enterprise technology innovation and product strategy. His expertise lies in building scalable digital platforms, driving technology modernization, and fostering cross-functional synergies to enable business growth.
Beyond his corporate journey, Guha is also an active mentor and angel investor, guiding startups in AI, SaaS, and consumer technology. He has supported emerging ventures with his deep knowledge of digital strategy, cloud computing, enterprise software, and product innovation.
His new role within Tata Digital and Tata CLiQ comes at a crucial time as the conglomerate accelerates its digital commerce expansion to compete with global and Indian tech players. Guha’s dual mandate is aimed at not only driving technology synergies across group companies but also delivering innovation-led growth for Tata CLiQ Fashion, strengthening its position in India’s dynamic e-commerce landscape.
