TCS Acquires Coastal Cloud in $700 Million Deal, Becomes One of the World’s Top Five Salesforce Consulting F

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has signed a $700 million agreement to acquire US-based Salesforce consulting firm Coastal Cloud, marking its largest acquisition since 2008. With full ownership of the Salesforce Summit partner, TCS will now rank among the top five Salesforce advisory and consulting firms globally. The deal significantly expands the company’s multi-cloud, Salesforce, and AI-driven consulting portfolio at a time when enterprises are accelerating platform modernisation and AI-led transformation. COO Aarthi Subramanian said, “By adding over 400 multi-cloud specialists with deep industry expertise, we are strengthening our advisory and business consulting capabilities and enhancing our AI and data offerings.”

Headquartered in Florida, Coastal Cloud is led by Salesforce veteran Eric Berridge and has built a strong reputation in multi-cloud transformation. The company brings more than 400 multi-cloud specialists and over 3,000 Salesforce certifications, making it one of the most credentialed firms in the ecosystem. Berridge said the partnership “gives us a stronger platform to grow, inspire and attract the industry’s best Salesforce and AI professionals.” He added that the combination of Coastal Cloud and ListEngage—another Salesforce-focused firm acquired by TCS—will enhance the ability to design modern customer experiences, simplify complex enterprise processes, and deliver value at scale across global industries. Coastal Cloud reported $132 million in revenue in 2024.

For TCS, the acquisition is a strategic milestone that deepens its capabilities in Salesforce-led transformation while strengthening its US mid-market presence. The company said the integration of Coastal Cloud will accelerate its AI-first consulting offerings and expand its ability to serve clients seeking multi-cloud modernisation. Vikram Karakoti, global head of enterprise solutions at TCS, noted that the two acquisitions expand geographic reach, bolster sector-specific expertise, and reflect the company’s commitment to supporting clients in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.

The deal underscores TCS’s broader strategy to scale digital and cloud transformation services, build specialised talent pools, and strengthen its position in high-growth enterprise platforms—particularly as AI-driven customer experience and automation become central to enterprise technology investments.
