Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has rolled out two significant AI-driven initiatives aimed at redefining global retail operations and revolutionising customer experiences in India’s telecom sector. By embedding NVIDIA’s accelerated computing into its retail platforms, TCS is bringing scalable next-generation AI capabilities to retailers worldwide while also partnering with Vodafone Idea (Vi) to overhaul its business support systems with AI-first solutions.
In retail, TCS announced that its NVIDIA-powered offerings could help businesses cut operating costs by as much as 75%. The company has already built advanced use cases, including generative AI-enabled content creation, inventory video analytics, and real-time pricing insights. Krishnan Ramanujam, president of consumer business group at TCS, said, “We help retailers gain a competitive advantage and unlock new sources of growth by combining our deep domain experience with next-generation technology at speed and scale.”
Echoing this, Azita Martin, vice president and general manager of AI for retail, CPG, and QSR at NVIDIA, added, “By integrating NVIDIA’s technologies into their platforms, TCS is able to help retailers automate operations, deliver personalised experiences, and simulate business and operation scenarios with faster performance.”
Parallel to its retail drive, TCS announced a five-year strategic collaboration with Vodafone Idea to modernise its business support systems. The initiative will rely on TCS HOBS as the digital foundation and TCS TwinX for AI-driven intelligence, enhancing automation, agility, and customer personalisation across Vi’s services. Jagbir Singh, group CTO at Vi, said, “With this partnership, Vi is embarking on a transformative journey to redefine customer experience. By modernising our BSS platforms embedded with AI-driven innovation, we are setting a new standard to deliver faster, smarter and more personalised digital experiences.”
