
Thomas Cook India Limited has strengthened its digital and technology leadership with the appointment of Sachinkumar K. Patel as Vice President – Information Technology. A seasoned transformation and cybersecurity leader with more than 22 years of experience, Patel will spearhead customer-first digital journeys enabled by cloud-native platforms, data and AI, and security-by-design architectures.
Announcing the move, Patel shared, “Excited to share that I’ve joined Thomas Cook India Limited as Vice President – Information Technology. I’ll be focused on building customer-first digital journeys with cloud-native platforms, data & AI, and security by design, partnering closely across business to deliver value fast.”

Patel joins Thomas Cook after an impactful seven-year tenure at Cactus Communications, where he served as Group Head – IT and acted as CISO across global operations. He led end-to-end IT functions spanning infrastructure, application development, data compliance, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and global service management. His role included driving information security strategy, managing P&L for technology verticals, and building scalable digital ecosystems across multiple geographies.
An engineering graduate and a Ph.D. holder in Cyber Security with a focus on advanced frameworks for critical infrastructure protection, Patel brings deep expertise in strategic IT management, project and program leadership, multi-cloud architecture, cybersecurity governance, ITIL-based service delivery, and cross-functional operations.
Before Cactus Communications, Patel held leadership positions at CMS IT Services as National Delivery Manager (including a mandate in Tokyo), Wipro Limited as National Program Manager – GIS, and earlier at ICICI Bank as Assistant Manager – IT. Across these roles, he managed mission-critical technology programs, drove business–IT alignment, optimized service delivery across BFSI, government, and enterprise clients, and ensured compliance with global standards such as ISO 20000, ISO 27001, BS 7799, and SOX.
Widely regarded as an “ambassador of change,” Patel is known for leveraging technology to unlock revenue opportunities while strengthening enterprise resilience. His diverse experience across security, cloud, and digital operations positions him to accelerate Thomas Cook India’s next phase of digital transformation.
