Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has announced the appointment of Geena Malhotra as its Chief Technology Officer. The appointment marks a significant addition to the company’s senior leadership team as it continues to focus on innovation, technology-led growth, and operational excellence across its pharmaceutical operations.
In her new role, Geena Malhotra will be responsible for shaping Torrent Pharmaceuticals’ technology strategy and driving innovation across manufacturing, product development, and related operational functions. She will also play a key role in strengthening technology-driven efficiencies and advancing sustainable practices within the organization.
Geena brings nearly four decades of global experience spanning research and development, manufacturing, supply chain management, and sustainability within the pharmaceutical industry. She is widely recognised for leading technology-enabled transformation initiatives and building robust manufacturing and product development capabilities across geographies.
Prior to joining Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Geena served as Managing Director at Signet Excipients Pvt. Ltd. She took a brief career break before assuming her new role at Torrent. Earlier in her career, she spent more than 37 years at Cipla, where she held several senior leadership positions, including Global Chief Technology Officer, Head of Manufacturing Operations, and Global Head of Integrated Product Development.
During her tenure at Cipla, Geena played a pivotal role in advancing pharmaceutical innovation and strengthening global manufacturing platforms. Her contributions include an extensive portfolio of approximately 50 international patents, reflecting her deep involvement in technology development and product innovation at a global scale.
