Trent AI emerges from stealth with $13 million to secure next-generation AI agents

UK-based cybersecurity startup Trent AI has emerged from stealth mode with $13 million in seed funding, marking its official entry into the fast-growing AI security landscape. The funding round was led by LocalGlobe and Cambridge Innovation Capital, with additional participation from angel investors, highlighting strong investor confidence in the need for security solutions tailored to autonomous AI systems.

Founded in 2025 and headquartered in London, Trent AI is focused on building a layered security platform designed to protect AI agents throughout their entire lifecycle. The company’s solution is aimed at addressing emerging risks associated with autonomous systems, which are increasingly being deployed across enterprise environments without robust security frameworks in place.

The platform leverages a multi-agent architecture where specialized AI agents continuously monitor, analyze, and secure systems in real time. These agents work collaboratively to observe code, infrastructure, and runtime behavior, allowing the system to detect vulnerabilities, assess risks, and implement corrective measures. Over time, the system improves its judgment and mitigation capabilities through continuous learning cycles.

Trent AI’s solution is specifically designed for developers and organizations building AI agents and autonomous workflows. As these systems evolve and operate independently, they introduce new security challenges that traditional tools are not equipped to handle. The company aims to embed security directly into development workflows, enabling teams to build and deploy AI systems without compromising safety or compliance.

The newly raised capital will be used to further develop the platform’s AI agents, expand the company’s engineering team, and accelerate go-to-market efforts. As adoption of agentic AI continues to rise, Trent AI is positioning itself to provide foundational security infrastructure for this new class of intelligent systems.

The launch comes amid a broader industry shift toward autonomous AI systems, where security is becoming a critical concern. With organizations deploying AI agents at an increasing pace, solutions like Trent AI’s are expected to play a key role in ensuring these systems remain secure, reliable, and scalable in real-world applications.
