
Usha Krishnan has been appointed as Managing Director – Technology Risk and Control at State Street, marking a significant leadership milestone in her distinguished journey across global technology risk and governance functions. Congratulations to her on this well-earned appointment and wishing her continued success in strengthening resilient and future-ready risk frameworks.
In her new role at State Street, she will be responsible for leading the enterprise-wide technology risk and control strategy. Her mandate includes reinforcing governance structures, advancing regulatory alignment, and enhancing risk transformation initiatives across complex, large-scale environments.
Prior to joining State Street, Krishnan served as Global Head of Technology Risk & Control at Deutsche Bank from January 2024 to January 2026. In that capacity, she oversaw incident reporting, IT governance, and a broad spectrum of risk and control initiatives, strengthening global oversight frameworks.
Earlier, she spent over eight years at The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), where she held multiple senior leadership roles. From February 2020 to January 2024, she served as Director – Technology Risk Management – Product and Platform Management & Delivery, driving initiatives across incident reporting, employee engagement, and enterprise-wide governance practices. Prior to that, she was Director IT Governance from December 2015 to February 2020 in Chennai, focusing on IT governance, employee engagement, and comprehensive risk oversight programs.
Before her tenure at DTCC, Krishnan was associated with Scope International for 8 years and 9 months. She served as Senior Manager – Service Delivery Operations from October 2014 to December 2015 in Chennai, leading IT service delivery operations supporting more than 5,000 users and over 10 data centres, managing 3,000+ servers and 250 applications across five geographies under ITIL frameworks. Earlier, from April 2010 to September 2014, she held the position of Senior Manager – Corebanking Services.
With a career defined by leadership in IT governance, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience, Krishnan’s appointment at State Street underscores her extensive expertise in designing and implementing robust technology risk and control frameworks across global financial institutions.
