V V Subba Raju (CISM, CISA, CRISC) steps into a critical leadership role as Chief Information Security Officer at iBASIS, bringing decades of experience in information security, IT infrastructure, and digital transformation to the global communications services provider.
An award-winning technology and security leader, Subba Raju has built a strong reputation across cybersecurity, IT operations, data protection, and governance. He holds an extensive portfolio of certifications, including CISM, CISA, CRISC, GDPR, ITIL v3 Expert, ISO 27001:2013 and ISO 27001:2022 Lead Auditor, ISO 31000 Risk Manager, HIPAA Security, and multiple GSDC credentials. His career reflects a consistent focus on building resilient, compliant, and business-aligned security programs across complex, multi-geography environments.
His leadership excellence has been widely recognised through several prestigious industry honours, including the Next100 CIO Award, Technology Leaders Award in IT Security, Indian Achievers’ Award 2022–23, Super 50 CISO Award 2024, CISO Platform 100 Award 2025, and the Governance Security Risk Management (GSRM) Champion Award 2025. At iBASIS, Subba Raju will lead Information Security for the APAC region and serve as Data Protection Officer for India. His remit spans cybersecurity strategy, IT and infrastructure operations, IT P&L ownership, budgeting, vendor and contract management, managed services leadership, RFP responses, and people enablement—positioning information security as a strategic business enabler.
Prior to joining iBASIS, he spent over four years at NTT DATA Business Solutions, most recently as Senior Director, CISO & DPO for APAC and India. In this role, he led security strategy and architecture, enterprise risk management, incident response, BCP/DR, and the implementation of ISO 27001:2022 across the region. Earlier, as Director – IT & Networks, he drove large-scale IT operations across India and Qatar while aligning IT transformation with business objectives.
His earlier career includes leadership roles at CallHealth as Head of IT Infrastructure & Information Security, Dhanush InfoTech as IS Operations Head—where he led multi-country IT and BPO operations—and Capgemini as IT Operations Manager.
With his appointment, iBASIS gains a seasoned CISO whose depth in governance, risk, and security operations is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening the organisation’s cyber resilience and supporting its growth across global markets.
