Amara Communications – YFCI has announced the appointment of Varun Chaturvedi as its Chief Executive Officer, marking a key leadership development as the company accelerates its expansion across Myanmar and the wider Southeast Asian telecommunications market. The appointment reflects the organization’s continued focus on strengthening leadership governance, enhancing operational rigor, and building a sustainable platform for long-term growth. In his role as Chief Executive Officer, Chaturvedi will oversee overall business strategy, operational execution, and profitability, while guiding the company’s growth agenda in an increasingly competitive and evolving telecom landscape. With more than two decades of leadership experience spanning India and Southeast Asia, he brings deep expertise in P&L management, market expansion, and organizational transformation to the role.
Before joining Amara Communications – YFCI, Chaturvedi served as Chief Sales Officer at ATOM Myanmar (formerly Telenor), where he led the Sales Group and was responsible for revenue strategy, digital distribution expansion, and market share growth across Myanmar. During his tenure, he played a central role in strengthening sales execution, driving distribution scale, and aligning commercial performance with broader business objectives in a highly dynamic market environment. His association with ATOM Myanmar also included his role as Senior Vice President and Head of Sales & Distribution, where he was responsible for developing and executing nationwide sales and distribution strategies. In this capacity, he focused on maximizing market reach, strengthening leadership capability within teams, and driving change management initiatives to support business transformation.
Chaturvedi’s professional journey includes nearly 13 years with Telenor across India and Myanmar, where he held multiple leadership roles, including Head of Sales and Distribution and Head of Retail. Across these roles, he built a strong foundation in sales leadership, retail transformation, and large-scale distribution management, contributing to sustained commercial performance in complex operating environments. In addition to his corporate leadership experience, Chaturvedi is also the Co-Founder of ProLeaders Consultancy, an independent management and leadership consulting firm established to transform sales organizations through proprietary, research-based frameworks. Through this venture, he has continued to focus on leadership development, business transformation, and capability building across organizations.
As Chief Executive Officer of Amara Communications – YFCI, Chaturvedi will be based in Yangon, Myanmar, and will lead the company’s efforts across business strategy, operational excellence, and sustainable growth initiatives.
