Vedanta Limited – Aluminium Business has announced the elevation of Ashutosh Dwivedi as CEO – Power, based in Jharsuguda, Odisha. With more than 20 years of experience in the power and energy sector, Ashutosh has been a key driver of operational excellence, efficiency, and large-scale power projects for Vedanta. His appointment marks a strategic move to further enhance Vedanta’s power operations, which play a crucial role in supporting its aluminium production and sustainability goals.
Ashutosh has had a long-standing association with Vedanta, serving in several senior leadership roles over the years. Most recently, he was COO – Power at both Vedanta and Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), where he played a pivotal role in ensuring reliable and sustainable power operations to support the company’s growing aluminium business. His efforts have been instrumental in improving operational reliability, driving efficiency, and aligning power operations with Vedanta’s broader commitment to sustainable growth.
Before joining Vedanta, Ashutosh worked with Nayara Energy as Vice President, where he contributed to strengthening the company’s energy management capabilities. He also spent over a decade at NTPC Limited, one of India’s leading power generation companies, where he built his foundational expertise in power management and operations.
Throughout his career, Ashutosh has led diverse teams across Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh, making significant contributions to India’s power and aluminium ecosystem. His leadership style is defined by a focus on technical excellence, operational discipline, and collaborative problem-solving, making him well-suited to drive Vedanta’s power business into its next phase of growth.
With this elevation, Ashutosh is expected to focus on strengthening power infrastructure, improving energy efficiency, and advancing Vedanta’s sustainability agenda.
