Deepak Chawla has been elevated to the position of Senior Vice President at WeRize, where he is leading key strategic initiatives aimed at addressing the under-penetration of financial services across Bharat, particularly in Tier-2, Tier-3, and rural markets. In this role, he is focused on developing advanced risk and collections technology solutions to identify the right customer segments and ensure consistent and reliable repayment journeys.
His responsibilities include strengthening the company’s fintech capabilities by leveraging data-driven approaches to improve credit decisioning, portfolio performance, and customer engagement in underserved markets.
Prior to this elevation, Chawla served as Vice President – Strategic Initiatives at WeRize, where he contributed to shaping business strategy and driving execution across key growth areas. His tenure at the company has been marked by a strong focus on innovation and scalable solutions tailored to emerging market needs.
Before joining WeRize, he spent over eight years at Furlenco as Senior Director – Growth, Loyalty Marketing, and Customer Success. In this role, he worked on significantly enhancing customer lifetime value by driving subscriber monetization, increasing upsell contributions, and reducing churn, while also building and leading high-performing teams.
Earlier in his career, Chawla held the role of Senior Credit Manager at Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he gained deep expertise in credit risk assessment and portfolio management. He also worked with ICICI Bank and Corporation Bank, further strengthening his foundation in financial services, along with an early stint at Samsung India Software Operations Pvt. Ltd., where he developed exposure to technology-driven business processes.
With a diverse background spanning fintech, banking, and customer-centric growth functions, Deepak Chawla brings strong expertise in credit risk, financial analysis, and business transformation.
