The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) has issued a letter of intent to Neenjas Electric for the allotment of a 20,000 square metre industrial plot in Sector 8D, officials confirmed on Saturday. The development adds momentum to the expanding electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing ecosystem taking shape near the upcoming Noida International Airport.
According to officials, the proposed facility will manufacture on-board EV chargers and solar power banks, aimed at strengthening India’s domestic capabilities in high-capacity power electronics and renewable energy storage systems.
The letter of intent was formally handed over by Yeida Chief Executive Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh to Neenjas Electric Managing Director Vineet Gupta on Friday.
Officials highlighted that the Sector 8D location offers a strategic advantage, citing its close proximity to the airport and seamless access to expressway-connected logistics corridors.
The company plans to develop solutions for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and light commercial vehicles. Its product roadmap includes high IP-rated onboard chargers and advanced solar power bank systems tailored for Indian operating conditions, officials added.
“The Yamuna Expressway region is being developed as a key destination for EV and allied manufacturing. Such projects are expected to contribute to local employment generation and support India’s clean energy transition”, said Singh. He added that the project is expected to involve an investment of around ₹169 crore.
Officials further noted that Yeida has, in recent years, been actively positioning the Yamuna Expressway region as a hub for electric mobility, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing.
