
YES BANK has appointed Anantharaman S as its Chief Risk Officer (CRO), reinforcing its leadership bench as it sharpens focus on strengthening enterprise-wide risk governance.
In this role, Anantharaman will be responsible for overseeing a wide spectrum of risk functions, including credit policy, operational and enterprise risk, market risk, information security, model governance, and data analytics, along with data privacy and protection. His mandate will center on enhancing the bank’s overall risk architecture and ensuring robust governance across business operations.
He brings over three decades of experience in the banking and financial services industry, with expertise spanning enterprise risk management, credit strategy, portfolio quality, fraud risk, and regulatory compliance. A qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), he has built a strong track record across leading financial institutions.
Anantharaman joins YES BANK from Jio Financial Services, where he served as Group Chief Risk Officer. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in establishing a comprehensive, group-wide risk management framework covering lending, payments, insurance broking, and asset management businesses.
Prior to that, he served as Chief Risk Officer at Bank of Baroda, where he led initiatives aimed at strengthening asset quality and improving portfolio resilience, while reinforcing the institution’s risk management practices.
Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at HDFC Bank and L&T Finance Holdings, where he managed large corporate and retail credit portfolios and implemented data-driven risk management systems.
His appointment reflects YES BANK’s continued emphasis on building a resilient, data-driven risk framework aligned with evolving regulatory and business requirements.
