Zoho has unveiled the upgraded version of Zoho Scanner, its AI-powered document scanning app, designed to deliver a smarter and more connected document management experience for both individuals and enterprises. The new version goes beyond traditional scanning by using artificial intelligence to automatically detect document edges, enhance image quality, remove background noise, and extract text with improved accuracy through its integrated OCR technology.
The update significantly enhances accessibility with support for over 22 languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, and Urdu. This feature is particularly useful for businesses, educational institutions, and government offices dealing with multilingual paperwork, as it allows users to instantly translate and digitize vernacular documents.
In addition to better scanning capabilities, Zoho Scanner introduces AI-powered organization features, including automatic tagging and categorization, making it easier to maintain digital filing systems. The app’s redesigned interface provides a more intuitive navigation experience, while seamless cross-platform synchronization ensures documents stay updated across mobile devices and web applications, closing workflow gaps.
Zoho is also preparing to expand the app’s utility by supporting specific formats such as invoices, certificates, ID cards, and business cards. Planned integrations with Zoho CRM, WorkDrive, and Expense will allow users to directly link scanned documents into their broader Zoho ecosystem, improving operational efficiency and reducing manual effort.
Zoho has reiterated its focus on privacy and security in its AI adoption strategy, stating that while the company is “not looking to compete with platforms like ChatGPT,” these new capabilities will play a crucial role in automating routine tasks and streamlining business processes.
Zoho Scanner Pro is priced at ₹999 per year, with a limited-time 50% discount on annual plans available until December 15, 2025. The app is now available across iOS, Android, and web platforms, enabling users to digitize, organize, and share documents effortlessly from any device.
