Ather Energy has announced the appointment of Anjani Kumar as its new Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO). With more than two decades of experience leading digital transformation and IT strategy across a variety of industries, Kumar joins Ather at a time of rapid growth and innovation in the electric mobility sector.
In his new role, Kumar will drive the company’s digital roadmap—overseeing key areas such as IT infrastructure, digital engineering, data analytics, security, and the development of intelligent systems across operations and customer touchpoints. He will be responsible for strengthening Ather’s digital backbone to support product development, manufacturing efficiency, and consumer experience.
Before joining Ather, Kumar held senior leadership roles at renowned organizations including IBM, Nissan, Strides Pharma, Tata AIG, and Cognizant, where he played an instrumental role in implementing enterprise-wide digital solutions. His cross-sector experience spans automotive, healthcare, BFSI, logistics, and technology services, making him uniquely equipped to guide Ather’s digital vision.
Welcoming him to the company, Ather’s Co-founder and CTO Swapnil Jain shared that Kumar’s appointment will enhance the company’s ability to build scalable, tech-led solutions as it continues expanding its footprint in India and abroad.
Anjani Kumar holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Rourkela and pursued further studies in marketing and management at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University. He has received several recognitions for his leadership in digital innovation and continues to be a thought leader in the tech space.
Kumar’s addition to the leadership team reinforces Ather Energy’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology with sustainable mobility as it gears up for the next phase of growth.
