Bharti Airtel has announced the appointment of Manoj Kumar Mauni as Chief Information Officer (CIO), Telecom, marking a significant addition to its technology leadership as the company continues to advance its digital transformation and 5G expansion strategy.
With over 25 years of cross-sector experience spanning banking, telecommunications, and global logistics, Manoj brings a unique blend of technology innovation, enterprise IT leadership, and business transformation expertise. His appointment signals Airtel’s strategic intent to further integrate technology into its core telecom offerings and services.
Prior to joining Airtel, Manoj served as Chief Technology Officer at Bandhan Bank, where he led major digital modernization initiatives, focusing on scalable IT architecture and customer-centric platforms. Before that, during his decade-long tenure at Kotak Mahindra Bank, including his role as Executive Vice President – IT, he was instrumental in shaping and delivering enterprise-wide technology strategy, digital infrastructure modernization, and business-aligned IT transformation.
His career also includes leadership positions at Kotak Life, A.P. Moller – Maersk, P&O Nedlloyd, and Stock Holding Corporation of India, showcasing his ability to manage and scale IT operations across diverse and complex industries.
At Airtel, Manoj will lead the company’s telecom IT strategy, overseeing the implementation of next-gen solutions such as 5G networks, Internet of Things (IoT), Airtel Black, and AI-driven customer experiences. His role will be crucial in driving operational efficiency, technological agility, and customer-centric digital innovation, while aligning with Airtel’s broader commitment to sustainable, inclusive, and digitally empowered growth.
