Samsung Electronics, in collaboration with Startup India, has launched a nationwide initiative to foster innovation in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, aiming to empower youth from less urbanized regions of India. Through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the two organizations will integrate Samsung’s flagship Solve for Tomorrow program with Startup India’s established incubation and mentorship network. The partnership was officially announced in New Delhi and marks a significant step toward creating a more inclusive innovation ecosystem.

The initiative is designed to provide aspiring innovators from smaller towns and remote regions with access to critical resources—such as mentorship, infrastructure, and funding—to help bring their ideas to life. “This partnership will not only encourage youth from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities to ideate and innovate, but also align closely with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat,” said Sanjiv Singh, Joint Secretary at the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

S P Chun, Corporate Vice President at Samsung Southwest Asia, emphasized the company’s commitment to nurturing talent from across the country: “We aim to nurture the next generation of changemakers from the remote corners of India to become the problem solvers of tomorrow.”

The 2025 edition of Solve for Tomorrow introduces substantial financial incentives, with ₹1 crore in grants awarded to the top four teams, and additional recognition and support for the top 20 and 40 teams. This year’s program focuses on themes that reflect India’s developmental priorities, including AI for a smarter Bharat, health and well-being, education through sports, and environmental sustainability.

The program is already receiving strong interest from districts like Samastipur (Bihar), Guntur (Andhra Pradesh), Baramulla (Jammu & Kashmir), and Cachar (Assam)—highlighting the deep reach and aspirational potential across India’s heartland.

By combining Samsung’s technological expertise with Startup India’s grassroots support framework, the collaboration seeks to create a vibrant platform for young minds to develop impactful solutions, thereby contributing to the broader goal of building a self-reliant and innovation-driven India.
