Wipro has announced the acquisition of the Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS) business of Samsung subsidiary HARMAN India, in a strategic move to expand its engineering and digital services portfolio. The deal, which is subject to regulatory approval and expected to close by December 31, will bring over 5,600 DTS professionals, including senior leaders across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, into Wipro’s workforce.
DTS is widely recognized for its strong expertise in digital engineering, connected technologies, and software platforms. Once the acquisition is finalized, the unit will be integrated into Wipro’s Engineering Global Business Line, further strengthening its end-to-end service offerings.
Emphasizing the strategic fit, Srini Pallia, CEO of Wipro, stated, “Their (Harman) specialised engineering expertise, combined with Wipro’s consulting-led, AI-powered capabilities, will significantly enhance the value we deliver to clients.”
The acquisition will enhance Wipro’s footprint across several high-growth sectors, including technology, aerospace, healthcare, industrial, and consumer businesses. Highlighting the significance of this development, Srikumar Rao, Managing Partner and Global Head of Engineering at Wipro, remarked, “The acquisition of DTS marks a pivotal step in Wipro’s ambition to bring to our clients end-to-end, AI-powered engineering services.”
From Harman’s perspective, the move promises new opportunities for scale and growth. Christian Sobottka, CEO of Harman, commented, “This deal will enable DTS to scale faster under Wipro.”
Alongside the acquisition, Wipro has also revealed a multi-year strategic partnership with both Harman and Samsung. This collaboration is expected to open avenues for joint innovation and co-development of advanced solutions, allowing all three companies to leverage synergies on a global scale.
The transaction underscores Wipro’s broader strategy of deepening its engineering-led offerings while tapping into AI and advanced technologies to drive digital transformation for clients. For Harman, the deal represents a chance to expand DTS’s reach and accelerate innovation under Wipro’s leadership.
With this acquisition and partnership, Wipro has positioned itself to deliver enhanced value to customers worldwide, cementing its role as a global player in AI-powered engineering and digital services.
