Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) has announced the appointment of Siju Prabhakaran as Chief Business Officer (CBO) – Z5 India & Global, a move that underscores the company’s focus on accelerating digital growth and strengthening its global entertainment footprint. With nearly two decades at Zee, Prabhakaran’s elevation marks a significant milestone in his long-standing career with the media conglomerate.
In his new capacity, Prabhakaran will be responsible for driving the next phase of ZEE5’s growth in India and international markets, building on its position as one of the leading OTT platforms. His mandate includes scaling digital operations, enhancing consumer engagement, and reinforcing the platform’s role as a central pillar in Zee’s broader entertainment strategy.
Over the years, Prabhakaran has played a pivotal role in shaping Zee’s regional business and digital transformation. Most recently, he served as Chief Cluster Officer – South & West (Linear & OTT), where he oversaw performance across critical markets. Prior to that, he held the role of Executive Vice President & Cluster Head – South Business, successfully leading flagship regional channels such as Zee Tamil, Zee Telugu, Zee Kannada, and Zee Cinemalu. Under his leadership, these channels achieved strong market positions, significantly contributing to Zee’s growth trajectory.
Prabhakaran’s career journey at Zee is a testament to his deep expertise in sales, operations, and digital strategy. He began as a sales executive before moving into leadership positions, including Group Head for Zee Cinema in the West Zone, where he drove advertising and revenue strategies. His steady rise within the organization reflects both his strategic acumen and his ability to consistently deliver business impact.
Before joining Zee, Prabhakaran worked with Sterlite Industries (now Vedanta Inc) in its Aluminum Packaging Division, where he gained valuable early experience in sales and client management. This foundation laid the groundwork for his successful career in media and entertainment.
