
Protean eGov Technologies has announced the elevation of Eswaran V to Chief Operating Officer (COO), in addition to his role as Group Head – Business Operations. In this expanded position, Eswaran will lead the company’s efforts in operational transformation, process optimization, and digital innovation, reinforcing Protean’s mission of enabling large-scale e-governance solutions across India.
As COO, his focus will be on enhancing operational efficiency, driving scalability, and ensuring greater impact on citizens through Protean’s digital public infrastructure initiatives. The move underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team to support India’s rapidly growing digital ecosystem and the increasing adoption of tech-enabled governance.
Eswaran brings with him decades of expertise in operations, financial services, and large-scale digital transformation. Before joining Protean, he held significant leadership roles that contributed to shaping India’s financial and digital inclusion landscape.
He served as Chief Operations Officer and Interim CEO at India Post Payments Bank, where he played a central role in expanding the reach of digital banking and advancing the government’s financial inclusion agenda. His leadership was instrumental in scaling operations, streamlining processes, and building technology-driven frameworks for serving millions of customers.
Earlier in his career, Eswaran spent more than a decade with Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he led national operations for liabilities and cash management. During this tenure, he specialized in compliance, vendor governance, and payment systems, establishing himself as a seasoned leader in banking operations. His experience across diverse operational domains positions him strongly to advance Protean’s initiatives at the intersection of governance, technology, and citizen services.
With Eswaran stepping into his new role, Protean aims to further consolidate its reputation as a trusted partner in India’s digital transformation journey.
