AI inference chip leader Cerebras Systems has raised $1.1 billion in an oversubscribed Series G funding round, bringing the company’s post-money valuation to $8.1 billion. The round was led by Fidelity Management & Research Company and Atreides Management, LP, with participation from Tiger Global, Valor Equity Partners, and 1789 Capital. Existing investors including Altimeter, Alpha Wave, and Benchmark also contributed, while Citi and Barclays Capital acted as joint placement agents.
The new capital will be deployed to expand Cerebras’ AI processor and system design portfolio, scale its AI supercomputers, and increase U.S.-based manufacturing and data center capacity to meet the surging demand for AI infrastructure.
“From our inception, we have been backed by the most knowledgeable investors in the industry. They have seen the historic opportunity that is AI and have chosen to invest in Cerebras,” said Andrew Feldman, co-founder and CEO of Cerebras Systems.
Cerebras claims that its inference systems outperform NVIDIA GPUs by more than an order of magnitude on open-source AI models, highlighting its edge in high-performance AI computation. “Since our founding, we have tested every AI inference provider across hundreds of models. Cerebras is consistently the fastest,” said Micah Hill-Smith, CEO of Artificial Analysis.
The company’s technology has already been adopted by major global organizations, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Meta, IBM, Mistral AI, Cognition, AlphaSense, Notion, GlaxoSmithKline, Mayo Clinic, and several U.S. government agencies. Cerebras’ systems currently handle over 5 million monthly requests on Hugging Face, reflecting their scalability and reliability in enterprise AI applications.
This latest funding milestone reinforces Cerebras Systems’ leadership in AI hardware, positioning the company to accelerate innovation in AI inference and supercomputing. With robust investor backing and expanding adoption across tech, healthcare, and government sectors, Cerebras is poised to continue shaping the future of AI at unprecedented scale.
