Bringing over 18 years of experience in managing complex industrial projects, particularly within the steel sector, Ujwal offers a unique mix of technical acumen, global project leadership, and operational excellence. His academic background includes an M.Tech in Manufacturing Management from BITS Pilani, a Post-Graduate Program in Management Studies from Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai, and a B.E. in Production Engineering from D.Y. Patil College of Engineering and Technology, Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
Before assuming the COO role, Ujwal served as Global Project Director – Metals Business at John Cockerill Industry, Belgium, where he successfully led multi-entity projects spanning Europe, the US, and India. His leadership was instrumental in optimizing operational efficiency, driving lean execution, and improving EBITDA through strong governance frameworks.
Ujwal’s career journey began with John Cockerill India Limited and TCPL Packaging Limited, where he gained expertise in production planning, project management, and industrial strategy. Over the years, he has earned recognition for his ability to bridge European work culture with India’s pragmatic execution style, enabling smoother cross-border collaboration and efficient project delivery.
As COO of John Cockerill India, Ujwal is expected to lead end-to-end industrial project execution, implement innovative and sustainable strategies, and foster a high-performance organizational culture. His mandate will be to ensure agility in operations while aligning with global standards of excellence.
