In a major move to expand its leadership in data protection and AI-driven security, Veeam Software has announced plans to acquire Securiti AI, a leading data privacy management company, in a deal valued at approximately $1.73 billion. The acquisition aims to enhance Veeam’s ability to safeguard and manage cloud data powering AI applications, positioning it more competitively against cybersecurity and data management rivals such as Rubrik and Commvault Systems.
The deal will integrate Securiti AI’s Data Command Center — a unified platform for data privacy, governance, and security — with Veeam’s robust backup and recovery solutions. This integration is expected to create a comprehensive data management ecosystem, combining protection, compliance, and control for enterprises handling vast amounts of AI and cloud data.
As part of the agreement, Rehan Jalil, CEO of Securiti AI, will join Veeam as President of Security and AI once the transaction closes, which is anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2025. Veeam has confirmed that it will continue to offer Securiti AI’s existing Data Command Center product while preparing to launch new integrated capabilities designed to address the growing complexities of data protection in hybrid and AI-powered environments.
Financially, Morgan Stanley served as the advisor to Securiti AI on the transaction, while JPMorgan Chase provided financing support to Veeam. The acquisition is expected to strengthen Veeam’s strategic roadmap as it continues to expand its global footprint and advance in the AI security landscape.
Veeam’s core platform already plays a crucial role in enterprise resilience by enabling rapid data recovery in the event of ransomware attacks or accidental data loss. Its immutable backup technology ensures that secure, unaltered copies of data remain protected even if threat actors compromise primary systems.
With Insight Partners as its largest shareholder, Veeam’s acquisition of Securiti AI underscores its ambition to evolve beyond backup and recovery — toward intelligent, AI-driven data protection and compliance. By merging Securiti’s advanced privacy and governance capabilities with Veeam’s industry-leading recovery solutions, the company aims to set a new standard for secure, automated, and resilient cloud data management in the AI era.
