
Deutsche Bank has appointed Jai Rajbhut as Director – Technology, reinforcing its leadership bench as the bank continues to invest in scalable, resilient, and secure technology platforms. In his new role, Jai is responsible for providing technology leadership and driving delivery across critical systems, working closely with business, architecture, and operations teams to ensure engineering excellence, platform stability, and strong adherence to regulatory, risk, and governance standards across the technology stack.
The appointment comes at a time when global banks are intensifying their focus on modernising core systems while maintaining strict controls around security, compliance, and operational resilience. Jai’s role is expected to play a key part in aligning Deutsche Bank’s technology execution with business priorities, ensuring that platforms are robust, future-ready, and capable of supporting evolving regulatory and customer demands.
Before joining Deutsche Bank, Jai served as Head of Engineering at HSBC, where he led large engineering teams and oversaw the delivery of complex technology programmes in a highly regulated environment. His experience at HSBC included driving platform modernisation initiatives, improving delivery efficiency, and strengthening engineering practices across enterprise systems.
Earlier in his career, Jai held senior leadership roles at Morgan Stanley as an Executive Director and at Citi India, where he progressed from Assistant Vice President to Senior Vice President. During this period, he led large-scale digital transformation initiatives and built sophisticated surveillance and monitoring platforms, gaining deep exposure to capital markets technology and regulatory systems.
His professional journey also includes technology leadership roles at Fiserv, ZeeTech Solutions, and Cognizant. In addition, Jai has worked with global institutions such as the United Nations and AT&T USA, further broadening his experience across enterprise platforms, large-scale systems integration, and mission-critical technology environments. This diverse background has given him a strong foundation in designing and delivering technology solutions at scale.
At Deutsche Bank, Jai is expected to focus on strengthening engineering discipline, improving system resilience, and ensuring that technology delivery remains closely aligned with regulatory and governance requirements. His appointment reflects the bank’s continued emphasis on technology as a strategic enabler, supporting both operational stability and long-term transformation.
