
Granules India Limited has appointed Tushar Zade as its Chief Transformation Officer, in a strategic move to accelerate enterprise-wide transformation and strengthen its technology-driven growth roadmap. With over 15 years of experience in digital transformation, AI-led innovation, and enterprise technology leadership, Zade brings a strong blend of pharma domain expertise and digital execution capabilities, making him well-suited to lead this mandate in an increasingly competitive and evolving pharmaceutical landscape.
In his new role, Zade will lead large-scale transformation initiatives across business functions, with a focus on embedding digital technologies, improving operational efficiency, and driving data-led decision-making. He is expected to align business strategy with execution, enhance agility across the organization, and build scalable, innovation-driven systems that support long-term growth. His leadership will be critical as Granules India continues to modernize its operations and adapt to a rapidly digitizing global market.
Prior to joining Granules India, Zade served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at Aurigene Pharmaceutical Services, where he led end-to-end digital transformation across the pharma value chain. His work involved deploying advanced technologies such as AI, predictive analytics, IoT-enabled manufacturing, and automation to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance quality outcomes. These initiatives played a significant role in driving measurable business impact and operational excellence.
Before Aurigene, Zade spent over a decade at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, where he progressed from project management roles to leading global programs, gaining deep expertise in pharmaceutical operations and large-scale enterprise transformation. He also held consulting roles at Deloitte and Invenio Business Solutions, where he worked on ERP implementations and digital transformation projects across industries, building a strong foundation in enterprise systems and strategy.
He began his career as an SAP consultant with Bennett, Coleman & Co. (Times Group) and has also explored entrepreneurship early on, adding to his diverse professional experience. Over the years, he has developed expertise in ERP systems, API-led ecosystems, digital strategy, and cross-functional transformation, positioning himself as a well-rounded transformation leader.
Recognized for his contributions, Zade has received multiple industry accolades in digital leadership and transformation. His experience spans building data-driven operating models, scaling digital capabilities, and enabling organization-wide change.
His appointment comes at a time when pharmaceutical companies are increasingly investing in digital infrastructure, smart manufacturing, and AI-led processes.
