SOFTSWISS has appointed Denis Romanovskiy as its first Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO), marking a strategic move to elevate artificial intelligence to the core of its business operations. The creation of this C-suite role highlights the company’s focus on integrating AI as a foundational element of its technology infrastructure and long-term growth strategy.
In his new role, Romanovskiy will be responsible for defining and executing the company’s AI strategy while leading the development and rollout of its enterprise AI platform. This platform is designed to act as a centralized layer connecting AI capabilities with internal systems, enabling automation of workflows, large-scale data analysis, and faster decision-making, all while maintaining governance, transparency, and cost control.
Romanovskiy steps into the role after serving more than five years as Deputy Chief Technology Officer at SOFTSWISS, where he played a key role in scaling the company’s technology platforms and engineering capabilities. His elevation reflects both his deep technical expertise and his contribution to building the company’s current infrastructure.
Prior to joining SOFTSWISS, he held leadership and development roles at EPAM Systems and Wargaming.net, gaining extensive experience in enterprise software, large-scale platforms, and high-performance product environments. This background positions him well to lead AI adoption at scale across the organization.
The company emphasized that establishing a dedicated AI leadership role will enable standardized governance, improved visibility, and consistent implementation of AI initiatives across its global workforce. The platform-led approach is also aimed at reducing fragmented AI usage and ensuring secure, enterprise-grade deployment of AI solutions.
The appointment also underscores Malta’s growing importance as a hub for iGaming and technology innovation, with companies like SOFTSWISS investing heavily in advanced technologies such as AI to drive competitive advantage. As AI continues to reshape the digital entertainment and gaming ecosystem, this leadership move positions the company at the forefront of enterprise AI adoption within the industry.
