Sterlite Electric has appointed Frédéric Tréfois as its Group Chief Executive Officer, marking a new phase of leadership for the organization. Based in Mumbai, he assumes the role following a series of global leadership positions across the energy, infrastructure, and electrification sectors.
Before taking on this position, Tréfois was associated with Wegaw as an Independent Director and continues to serve as a Board Member in a contractual capacity. His experience in governance and strategic oversight complements his extensive executive leadership background.
He most recently served as Chief Executive Officer at Zaphiro Technologies, where he led the organization from November 2023 to December 2025, focusing on innovation in grid monitoring and digital solutions. Prior to that, he was Managing Director at Sécheron SA in Geneva, where he oversaw the development of electrical equipment and solutions for transportation infrastructure.
Earlier in his career, Tréfois held the role of Chief Executive Officer at Linxon, a joint venture between SNC-Lavalin and ABB, where he was responsible for advancing substation and electrification projects globally.
His long tenure at ABB included multiple senior leadership assignments, such as Group Vice President for the EPC Solutions Product Group and Group Vice President leading the Plant Electrification product group. In these roles, he drove large-scale electrification initiatives and product strategy across international markets.
Tréfois also gained significant commercial and operational experience during his time at ACCIONA as Commercial Director. He further expanded his leadership portfolio at Isolux Corsán, where he held key roles including T&D and Renewables Division Director as well as T&D Division Director, managing complex infrastructure and energy projects.
In addition, he served in Commercial Director roles at Orano, strengthening his expertise in large-scale industrial and energy operations. He began his professional journey as a Project Manager at VINCI Energies, laying the groundwork for a career centered on engineering, project execution, and leadership.
With a career spanning multiple geographies and industries, Tréfois brings deep expertise in power transmission, electrification, transportation infrastructure, and digital energy solutions. His appointment as Group CEO reflects Sterlite Electric’s focus on strengthening its leadership to drive innovation and expand its global footprint in the power infrastructure sector.
