Macquarie Technology Group Names Raven David as Group Chief Information Security Officer

Macquarie Technology Group has appointed Raven David as Group Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), further strengthening its leadership in cybersecurity as it continues to expand its services across enterprise and government segments.

In his new role, Raven will be responsible for driving the organization’s group-wide cybersecurity strategy and execution. His mandate includes enhancing governance frameworks, advancing risk management practices, and building resilience across systems, while strengthening overall security capabilities that support the company’s data centre, cloud, cybersecurity, and telecommunications offerings.

Raven’s elevation reflects a steady progression within Macquarie Technology Group, where he has held multiple leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Group Security & Infrastructure Manager, following his tenure as Group Security Manager based in Sydney. Across these roles, he worked closely with internal teams to strengthen security operations and align them with customer and business needs.

Before joining Macquarie Technology Group, Raven led cyber security governance, risk, and compliance initiatives at University of New South Wales, where he established and embedded key GRC functions. His work included policy and exemption management, penetration testing, application security, third-party risk management, and broader cybersecurity program development.

Earlier in his career, he served as Manager – Cyber Risk & Compliance at Sydney Water, where he built and led teams across cyber GRC, resilience, risk management, and IT service management governance. He also held information security responsibilities at Harvey Norman, gaining hands-on experience in enterprise security operations.

With a strong background spanning cybersecurity governance, infrastructure security, and compliance, Raven brings deep expertise in managing complex security environments. His appointment comes at a time when organizations are placing increased emphasis on robust cybersecurity frameworks to support digital transformation and protect critical infrastructure.
