
Spendesk has appointed Alan Wright as its Chief Technology Officer, strengthening its leadership team as it continues to scale its AI-powered spend management solutions.
In his new role, Wright will lead the company’s technology strategy and engineering functions, focusing on advancing product innovation, scaling platform capabilities, and supporting the company’s growth in the spend management and procurement space.
Wright joins Spendesk from Signal AI, where he served as Vice President of Engineering. During his tenure, he led engineering teams working on machine learning and natural language processing technologies to deliver data-driven insights and enable strategic decision-making.
Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at Freetrade, including Engineering Director for the UK and Associate Engineering Director for the investment platform. In these roles, he was responsible for scaling engineering teams and enhancing platform capabilities in a high-growth fintech environment.
Earlier in his career, Wright worked at Monzo Bank, where he served as Engineering Manager and Senior Engineering Manager, contributing to the development of digital banking infrastructure and customer-focused technology solutions.
He also spent over eight years at Spotify, taking on multiple roles including Engineering Manager, Technical Leader, and Software Engineer. His experience at Spotify involved building scalable systems and contributing to product innovation within a globally recognized technology platform.
Wright’s earlier roles include serving as Senior Technical Architect at Atex and beginning his career as a Software Engineer at Fraser Williams.
With extensive experience across AI, fintech, and large-scale digital platforms, Wright brings a strong background in engineering leadership, product development, and innovation. His appointment reflects Spendesk’s continued focus on strengthening its technology foundation and delivering intelligent, scalable solutions for modern business spending.
