Sterling and Wilson Strengthens IT Leadership with Rajesh Mittal as CIO

Rajesh Mittal has stepped into the role of Chief Information Officer at Sterling and Wilson, reinforcing the organization’s focus on advancing its digital capabilities and strengthening its IT leadership framework.

In this capacity, he will be responsible for shaping and executing enterprise-wide IT strategies, leading digital transformation initiatives, and fostering technology-driven innovation to enhance operational efficiency and support long-term business expansion.

Before joining Sterling and Wilson, Rajesh Mittal was associated with Altius Telecom Infrastructure as Vice President & Head – IT and Transformation. During his tenure, he led large-scale transformation programs across one of India’s prominent telecom infrastructure platforms, enabling seamless operations across telecom towers, fiber networks, and emerging AI-driven systems.

Prior to that, he served as Vice President and Head of IT at Summit Digitel Infrastructure Limited, where he played an instrumental role in strengthening IT frameworks and scaling digital capabilities for a rapidly expanding infrastructure business.

A significant part of his career was spent at Bharti Infratel Limited, where he dedicated over a decade and held several critical leadership positions. His roles included IT Head & CISO – Smart City, IT Head – Operations & Infrastructure, and Head – IT Governance & Security Architecture. In these capacities, he was deeply involved in managing large-scale IT operations, establishing governance models, and implementing robust security architectures.

Earlier in his professional journey, he worked with Avaya GlobalConnect and Ansun Multitech (India) Ltd., gaining hands-on experience in IT networks, enterprise systems, and infrastructure management. He began his career with PCL, where he built a strong foundation in technology and operations.

With extensive experience spanning IT leadership, telecom infrastructure, and enterprise transformation, Rajesh Mittal brings a proven ability to align technology initiatives with business priorities. His track record reflects a consistent focus on delivering scalable and future-ready solutions while driving organizational growth.

In his new role, he is expected to lead Sterling and Wilson’s IT evolution, focusing on innovation, efficiency, and digital scalability as the company continues to expand its presence in the global renewable energy sector.
