Censys, a cybersecurity firm based in Ann Arbor, has raised $70 million in strategic funding to enhance its capabilities in threat hunting and proactive incident response.
The funding includes a $40 million Series D equity round along with $30 million in debt financing. The round was led by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital, with participation from investors such as Decibel Partners, Greylock Partners, GV, and Intel Capital.
The company plans to deploy the funds toward advancing AI-powered capabilities across its recently launched Internet Intelligence platform. The focus will be on building next-generation solutions tailored for modern security operations, enabling organizations to better detect, analyze, and respond to cyber threats.
Led by CEO Zakir Durumeric, Censys provides tools that deliver real-time visibility into global internet infrastructure. Its platform maps billions of connected assets, allowing security teams to identify vulnerabilities, monitor attack surfaces, and respond proactively to potential risks.
The company’s solutions are widely used for applications such as attack surface management, threat hunting, and incident response. Its user base includes more than 300,000 security practitioners worldwide, spanning enterprises, government agencies, and critical infrastructure providers.
