Tata Digital-backed online grocery platform BigBasket has appointed Arpit Jaiswal as its new Chief Growth Officer, strengthening its leadership team as it continues to expand in India’s competitive quick commerce market. The announcement reflects the company’s focus on accelerating user growth and improving customer engagement strategies.
Jaiswal joins the company after a 15-year tenure at Google India, where he most recently led growth and monetisation efforts for Google Pay. His extensive experience in scaling digital platforms and driving user acquisition is expected to play a key role in shaping BigBasket’s next phase of growth.
Alongside this appointment, the company has also elevated Keshav Kumar to the role of Chief Product and Technology Officer. Kumar, who previously led engineering at the company, will now oversee product strategy and technological innovation, filling a leadership gap left after the previous executive’s departure last year.
The leadership changes come at a time when BigBasket is intensifying its focus on quick commerce and digital expansion. With increasing competition from other grocery delivery platforms, the company is aiming to enhance its growth capabilities, improve customer retention, and strengthen its technological backbone to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving market.
Industry observers see Jaiswal’s appointment as a strategic move to bring in expertise from the fintech and digital payments ecosystem into e-commerce. As BigBasket continues to scale its operations and broaden its service offerings, the addition of experienced leadership is expected to support its ambition of achieving sustained growth and expanding its footprint across urban and emerging markets in India.
