Kushagra Kumar has been elevated to Managing Director and Head of BFSI – Investment Banking at Axis Capital Ltd., marking a significant leadership move within the organization. His appointment highlights the firm’s focus on strengthening its investment banking capabilities in the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) sector.
In his new role, Kumar will lead equity fundraising and mergers and acquisitions advisory for corporate clients across the BFSI space. He is expected to play a key role in guiding clients through strategic transactions, capital market activities, and growth initiatives, leveraging his deep expertise in deal execution and financial advisory.
Kumar brings a strong track record of advising both established and emerging clients on their strategic ambitions. His experience spans a wide range of transactions, including equity capital markets deals and complex M&A assignments, positioning him well to drive value for clients in a dynamic financial landscape.
Prior to joining Axis Capital in this elevated role, he held key positions such as Director in investment banking at Avendus and Ernst & Young. He also served as Director at JM Financial Ltd., where he gained extensive experience in capital markets and advisory services.
He began his career with Bank of America, working as Senior Associate and Summer Associate, which helped him build a strong foundation in investment banking and financial advisory. With his extensive experience and sector expertise, Kumar’s elevation is expected to further strengthen Axis Capital’s position in the BFSI investment banking segment.
