KP Group Appoints Renewable Energy Veteran Rajesh Shrivastava as Executive Director and Whole-time Director

KP Group (KPI Green Energy Ltd.) has appointed Rajesh Sh rivastava as Executive Director and Whole-time Director, strengthening the company’s leadership as it accelerates expansion across India’s renewable energy sector. With nearly 37 years of experience in the power, infrastructure, and clean energy industries, Shrivastava brings deep expertise in large-scale project execution, engineering leadership, and sustainable energy development.

In his new role, Rajesh Shrivastava will oversee the strategic execution of KP Group’s rapidly growing renewable energy portfolio, with a strong focus on engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) operations for solar, wind, and hybrid energy projects. His appointment comes at a time when the company is expanding its clean energy footprint to capitalize on rising demand for renewable infrastructure across India.

Before joining KP Group, Shrivastava served as President and Business Head of Renewable Energy Development at Reliance Industries Limited, where he played a key role in advancing the conglomerate’s green energy initiatives and sustainability-focused infrastructure projects. His experience at Reliance further strengthened his reputation as a senior leader capable of managing complex energy transformation programs at scale.

Over the course of his distinguished career, he has held several high-impact leadership positions across major global energy and engineering organizations. He spent five years as Executive Director and Project Director at Toshiba JSW Power Systems Pvt. Ltd., following a successful 15-year tenure within the Toshiba Group. During this period, he led large-scale power infrastructure and engineering operations while contributing to major industrial and energy projects across multiple markets.

Earlier in his career, Shrivastava also served as Senior Vice President and Head of Global Engineering at Lanco, where he was responsible for overseeing engineering operations and project execution initiatives. He began his professional journey at NTPC Limited as an Assistant Chief Design Engineer, gaining foundational expertise in thermal power systems, engineering design, and utility-scale infrastructure management.

Industry observers note that his appointment reflects the growing importance of experienced infrastructure leadership in India’s renewable energy transition. As the country rapidly expands investments in solar, wind, energy storage, and hybrid power projects, companies are increasingly seeking executives with proven expertise in managing multi-gigawatt projects, operational scale, and long-term infrastructure development.

KP Group has emerged as one of India’s notable renewable energy players, actively expanding across utility-scale solar, wind, and green energy infrastructure projects. Analysts believe the addition of Rajesh Shrivastava could strengthen the company’s execution capabilities as competition intensifies within India’s clean energy market.

India’s renewable energy sector is currently witnessing record investments driven by government sustainability targets, corporate decarbonization initiatives, and rising energy demand. Industry experts expect experienced leaders with strong engineering and infrastructure backgrounds to play a critical role in scaling the country’s transition toward cleaner and more resilient energy systems over the coming decade.
