Nykaa has elevated Tanay Dindor to the role of Director, Product, expanding his leadership responsibilities across two major strategic areas — Generative AI and the Fashion Core Platform. In his new role, he will spearhead AI-led innovation initiatives across Nykaa’s ecosystem while also managing the end-to-end shopping experience and consumer journey strategy for Nykaa Fashion.
The appointment highlights Nykaa’s growing focus on integrating artificial intelligence into digital commerce and customer experience platforms. As Director, Product, Tanay Dindor will lead initiatives aimed at enhancing product discovery, personalization, recommendation systems, and operational efficiency through AI-native technologies. He will also oversee the evolution of Nykaa Fashion’s core platform infrastructure to improve scalability and customer engagement.
Prior to this elevation, Dindor was leading Nykaa’s GenAI charter, where he focused on developing AI-powered solutions designed to transform shopping experiences and internal productivity systems. His work included building AI-driven capabilities across search, discovery, content personalization, and workflow automation, supporting Nykaa’s broader digital transformation strategy.
With more than a decade of experience in product management and growth leadership, Dindor has built a strong track record across India’s consumer technology and e-commerce sectors. Before joining Nykaa, he led the Shopping Experience vertical at Licious, where he managed key customer experience initiatives, omnichannel growth strategies, and digital commerce optimization programs.
Earlier in his career, he spent more than six years at Cars24, holding several strategic leadership roles across India and Southeast Asia. He was also part of the founding leadership team that helped scale Cars24 into one of India’s leading automotive commerce platforms. During his tenure, he contributed to product growth, platform expansion, customer experience innovation, and international market development initiatives.
Industry analysts note that Nykaa’s decision to combine GenAI leadership with core commerce platform management reflects a broader trend across digital retail companies. E-commerce platforms are increasingly integrating generative AI into shopping journeys to improve personalization, automate customer engagement, optimize search and recommendations, and drive higher conversion rates.
The elevation also underscores the growing role of AI-focused product leaders in shaping the future of online retail and fashion commerce. Companies across the retail sector are aggressively investing in AI-native shopping experiences as competition intensifies in areas such as social commerce, conversational commerce, and personalized digital retail ecosystems.
Nykaa has continued expanding its technology and AI capabilities as it strengthens its position across beauty, fashion, and lifestyle commerce. Analysts believe leadership appointments focused on AI innovation and platform modernization will become increasingly important as digital retailers race to create more intelligent, immersive, and customer-centric shopping experiences.
