At the same time, Amazon’s satellite network initiative, Project Kuiper, is working to establish its position in the industry through partnerships with airlines such as Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways. As both companies compete for market share, the race to deliver high-quality onboard connectivity is becoming a key battleground in the broader satellite internet industry.
The growing availability of free in-flight Wi-Fi is also reshaping the economics of airline connectivity. Airlines increasingly view internet access as an important customer benefit rather than a premium add-on service.
