India — Baldev Prakash has been appointed as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer at SBI Securities, bringing more than 35 years of experience across banking, financial services, risk management, and strategic leadership.
In his new role, Prakash will lead SBI Securities’ growth strategy, strengthen its digital and investment services capabilities, and support the company’s expansion across India’s evolving capital markets and wealth management ecosystem.
Prior to this appointment, he served as Deputy Managing Director & Group Chief Risk Officer at State Bank of India, where he played a key role in enterprise risk management, governance, strategic planning, and financial oversight across the organization. During his tenure, he contributed to strengthening the bank’s risk frameworks and supporting large-scale banking operations across multiple business segments.
Before returning to State Bank of India in a senior leadership capacity, Prakash served as Managing Director & CEO of Jammu & Kashmir Bank, where he led the bank through a phase of operational strengthening, business growth, and digital banking expansion. Under his leadership, the bank focused on improving financial performance, strengthening governance, and enhancing customer-centric banking services.
Across his career, he has built extensive expertise in retail banking, corporate banking, treasury operations, foreign exchange, digital banking, enterprise risk management, financial services strategy, and regulatory compliance.
His appointment comes at a time when India’s brokerage, investment, and wealth management sectors are witnessing rapid digital transformation, rising retail investor participation, and increasing adoption of technology-driven financial platforms.
Industry analysts believe his deep experience in banking operations, financial risk management, and strategic leadership could support SBI Securities’ continued focus on expanding investment services, strengthening customer engagement, and enhancing digital financial solutions.
